A credible legacy of care and community
Founded in 1970, Methodist Homes has grown into a major provider of retirement living and care, with a property portfolio of approximately R1.9 billion across 13 villages in Gauteng and the North West.
This long history reflects a continued commitment to creating secure, well-managed communities where individuals can feel at home and enjoy the right support for their needs.
A not-for-profit company with purpose
Methodist Homes operates as a not-for-profit company led by a Board of Directors and guided by sound business principles, strong governance, and a clear sense of purpose.
This structure allows us to focus on long-term sustainability, responsible management, and the wellbeing of residents, while continuing to provide quality retirement living and care in an increasingly challenging environment.Â
Our values
The way we serve residents matters just as much as the accommodation and care we provide.
Our approach is grounded in dignity, respect, transparency, compassion, and responsible teamwork.
Looking ahead
At Methodist Homes, we are proud to offer later living that is shaped by experience, guided by purpose, and designed around the people who call our communities home.
Open to residents of all races and religious denominations
Rooted in Methodist values, open to all
Methodist Homes has strong links to the Methodist Church of Southern Africa and subscribes to high moral and ethical standards in the way it conducts its business. At the same time, the organisation is not financially supported by the church. At least 50% of board members are Methodists in good standing, and each home has a local committee that includes representation from the Methodist Church.
Importantly, Methodist Homes welcomes residents of all races and religious denominations, without discriminatory practices. The communities are open, inclusive, and focused on making every resident feel respected and at home.
